Stainless Steel 317L is a low-carbon, high-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel that typically contains around 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, and 3–4% molybdenum, with carbon capped at a maximum of 0.03%. The elevated molybdenum content grants exceptional resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. Its mechanical properties are impressive, featuring a tensile strength of about 515–760 MPa, yield strength around 205–310 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 35–40%. SS 317L is known for its excellent weldability, high toughness, and stable mechanical performance, even in harsh chloride and acidic environments.

We ensure quality products like Stainless Steel 317L Coils that always perform. We test these in various tests, such as hardness testing, spectro analysis, PMI, and flaring tests. Moreover, we do micro and macro tests, pitting resistance, and IGC tests to ensure superior quality in every material delivered. Apart from our testing procedures, we include full documentation of commercial invoices and packaging lists indicating net and gross weights, box numbers, and labels. Legalized or attested Certificate of Origin and Third-Party Inspection Certificates complete the assurance for the best product and unparalleled customer satisfaction.
Stainless Steel 317L coils find their place in highly corrosive service environments where standard 316L coils just won’t cut it. You’ll commonly see these coils in chemical processing equipment, acid handling systems, offshore oil and gas installations, desalination plants, heat exchangers, fertilizer plants, pulp and paper mills, and marine structures. These coils are often transformed into pipes, sheets, tubes, and precision-fabricated components that are exposed to chlorides, sulfuric acid, and other aggressive substances.
