Stainless Steel 202 is a low-nickel, manganese-rich austenitic stainless steel that typically contains around 17–19% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7–10% manganese, with carbon levels usually below 0.15%. The increased manganese content helps offset the lower nickel, providing solid strength. The typical mechanical properties of SS 202 flanges include a tensile strength of about 520–760 MPa, yield strength around 275–350 MPa, and an elongation of roughly 30–40%. While SS 202 is non-magnetic in its annealed state, it can develop slight magnetism after cold working.
