SMO 254 (UNS S31254) is a super austenitic stainless steel that boasts about 19.5–20.5% chromium, 17.5–18.5% nickel, 6–6.5% molybdenum, and 0.18–0.22% nitrogen. This cutting-edge alloy offers an impressive pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN > 42). Its typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength ranging from 650–850 MPa, a yield strength of about 300–400 MPa, and an elongation of 35–40%.
