Stainless Steel 321 is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that typically contains around 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel, with titanium added to prevent chromium carbide precipitation during welding and high-temperature applications. The carbon content is generally kept below 0.08%. The typical mechanical properties of SS 321 bars include a tensile strength of about 515–750 MPa, yield strength around 205–310 MPa, and an elongation of approximately 30–40%. This alloy is known for its excellent toughness, strong resistance to intergranular corrosion, and stable mechanical performance even at elevated temperatures.
