Stainless Steel 415 typically has about 12–14% chromium, with moderate carbon levels (around 0.15–0.30%) that allow for martensitic transformation and increased hardness after heat treatment. The mechanical properties are significantly influenced by heat treatment: tensile strength usually falls between 650–850 MPa, yield strength is around 350–550 MPa, and hardness can reach 200–250 HB or even higher when quenched and tempered. Its corrosion resistance is moderate, similar to other martensitic steels. The material comes with mill certification and optional inspection documents for critical engineering applications.
