Stainless Steel 465 is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel that contains around 10.5–11.8% chromium, 10–11.5% nickel, and 1.5–1.75% titanium, along with very low carbon and carefully controlled amounts of molybdenum. After undergoing solution treatment and aging, SS 465 achieves remarkably high strength levels. Its typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of about 1400–1650 MPa, yield strength ranging from 1200–1450 MPa, and an elongation of approximately 6–10%. This alloy is known for its exceptional toughness, impressive fatigue resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance within its strength class.
