Stainless Steel 321 is a titanium-stabilized austenitic stainless steel that contains about 17–19% chromium and 9–12% nickel, with titanium added to prevent chromium carbide precipitation. SS 321H is the higher-carbon variant (0.04–0.10% C) that offers enhanced high-temperature strength. Typical mechanical properties include a tensile strength of around 515–750 MPa, yield strength of approximately 205–310 MPa, and elongation of about 30–40%. These alloys are known for their excellent toughness, strong resistance to intergranular corrosion, and stable mechanical performance during prolonged high-temperature service.
